Revival Ministries
Australia is based
on the following statements of the Christian faith.
In these we do believe:
The Authority of Scripture
We accept the Bible as the full revelation of Jesus Christ, the
Son of Almighty God, and seek to approve all things according to the
Word of God. We are committed to believing God to fulfil every promise
contained in Scripture. (2 Timothy 3:16)
The Lordship of Jesus Christ
We discover our relationship with the Father God through the Lord
Jesus Christ only and seek to serve Jesus as Lord through the whole
of our lives. (Acts 2:36)
The Power of the Holy Spirit
We seek the empowering of the Holy Spirit as essential enablement
for ministry that bears witness to Jesus. We seek to develop in the
operation of all the gifts and graces of the Spirit given by God as
supernatural equipment for the ongoing ministry of Jesus. (Acts 1:8)
The Command of Jesus to Make Disciples
We are committed to fulfil the great commission given by Jesus to
the church, to preach the gospel to every person, seeking to draw them
to become His disciples. This includes active evangelism through training
of others and multiplied through the planting of churches. (Matthew
28:18-20)
The Uniqueness of the Apostolic Ministry
We value the ministries of the apostolic church as seen in the book
of Acts, and seek the restoration of the fivefold ministry gift. We
desire to see the Body of Christ equipped to exercise these ministries
through the power of the Holy Spirit. (Ephesians 4:11-12)
The Unity of the Spirit
As part of the Body of Christ we seek the unity of the Spirit with
every believer and with all churches that confess faith in Jesus Christ.
We desire to co-operate with churches in our region, throughout Australia
and overseas in order to proclaim the gospel to every person. (John
17:21, Ephesians 4:3 and 13)
The Centrality of Worship
We value worship, as we seek to respond to God's desire for a people
who worship Him in spirit and in truth. (John 4:23-24)
The Pursuit of Holiness
We are committed to becoming like Jesus. We desire that our personal
lives and our relationships generally will reflect His character more
and more. (1 Peter 1:13-16)
A Concern for All People
We are committed to ensuring that the teaching of Scripture is available
to all people regardless of status and circumstances - to fulfil the
command of Christ to "preach the gospel to all creation" including those
special people in God's sight whom the Bible refers to as "the poor".
(Mark 16:15 and Matthew 11:5)
Marriage and the Family
We recognise marriage and the family as the fundamental basis for
society. Revival Ministries Australia is committed to faithfulness in
marriage and biblical training of children in the family.
We accept these Four Tenets of Revival:
BEFORE any revival can begin, RMA sees as essential
requirements, the following FOUR TENETS OF REVIVAL as preached by Evan
Roberts at the beginning of the Welsh revival in November 1904 and repeated
many times through that revival.
1. All sin must be confessed and repented before
God.
The church must be cleansed; the Lord's
bride should be without spot so there is no room for compromise with
sin. "If there is anything in our lives about which there is even doubt
as to whether it is good or evil - then cast it off!"
2. There must be no cloud between the believer
and God.
"Have you forgiven every body? If not,
don't expect forgiveness for your own sins. The Scripture is clear:
we cannot be forgiven until we have forgiven. Unforgiveness separates
us from God."
3. We must obey the Holy Spirit.
"Do what the Spirit prompts you to do.
Immediate, implicit, unquestioning obedience to the Spirit is required
if we are going to be used by Him."
4. There must be public confessions of Christ
as Saviour.
"This is not just a one-time incident
after our salvation experience or baptism; for the Christian it is a
way of life."
What we do practise:
The Bible is the Word of God
We take the Bible seriously and find
from many years of experience that the Bible is a most awesome book.
We call it the Word of God, because through the Bible we find out about
God, who He is, why He created and best of all, how to come into a personal
relationship with Him. The Bible is a spiritual book: it reveals God,
who is Spirit, to us.
Prayer
We are people who pray much, taking all
our own needs to God in prayer and praying for the needs of others also.
We follow the Bible way of laying hands on the sick and praying for
healing. We find that the power and spiritual gifts of the Holy Spirit
are imparted through the laying on of hands.
Preach the Gospel
We simply seek to obey what Jesus said
to do in the Bible. We preach the gospel to all people to whom God sends
us. We do not discriminate but literally go into the highways and byways.
Baptism
When people come to believe in Jesus
we baptise them in water. It is a very significant step for a person
to take, to become a baptised believer. It means a real change has come
into the person's life.
Receiving the Holy Spirit
We then ask for the gift of the Holy
Spirit to be given to the newly baptised believer. This means receiving
the supernatural power of God into our human spirit, enabling us to
be like Jesus.
Becoming a Disciple
Each born again Christian is able to
follow the Lord personally, reading the Bible and communicating with
God directly through prayer. After a time of discipleship, that is,
training in the word of God and being able to exercise the gifts of
the Holy Spirit, each person is then equipped to effectively reach out
to others and share the gospel with them in a powerful way.
YOU can be involved?
1. You can become a believer, be baptised and
receive the Holy Spirit;
2. Then you can become a disciple who is learning
to follow Jesus and obey Him;
3. You can be trained and equipped for ministry
to others;
4. You can serve on ministry teams here in
Toowoomba, in your local area and throughout the nation;
5. You can be part of a team that goes overseas
to minister.
