MISSION
TO SOUTHERN SUDAN
03/03/06
Dear Brethren,
18
Months ago we shared the newsletter with you from Pastor Elijah
Wafula concerning the mission in the southern Sudan that he and
others had begun in 2003. The response to the newsletter was that
finance was made available and sent to Elijah. He used the money
to have uniforms made for all the children. When they returned to
southern Sudan in 2005 they photographed the children, some of whom
were previously naked in the classroom, in their new school uniforms.
As of March 2006 Elijah and a team are going back into southern
Sudan to further progress and build up this mission.

Dear
Brethren,
The
following is an email and newsletter from Pastor Elijah Wafula,
Moisbridge, West Kenya. We have met this brother in April 2004 and
he is in fellowship with some of our brethren in Kitale. We also
met his father who is the Bishop of over 200 churches. These are
very humble brethren who work in rural areas, going without personally
for the sake of the gospel. We want to share the following newsletter
with you as it is the most shocking report of the state of being
of any people group we have ever heard of. We would like to gather
support for this West Kenyan ministry. It does not require us to
go into Sudan but rather to empower this ministry to continue their
mission there. We look forward to your response.
DEAR
Apostle Paul and partners
Greetings from Kenya in Jesus name. I have been visiting
your web page and i have been blessed and encouraged
to seek your partnership. Iam the pastor and director of
vision builders ministries that has church planting and
outreach in Kenya and Sudan. I am willing to partnership
with your ministry to help our brothers and sisters in Kenya
and Sudan.I will be glad to hear from you. Here is our monthly
newsletter and our recent visit to Sudan.
Dear Partner /Friends,
Calvary greetings to you: May the grace and peace from
our Father be multiplied unto you in the Lord Jesus.
Amen.
Your partnership and prayers in the missions has been of great
source of encouragement to me. I am therefore happy
to share with you what the Lord did during our mission trip
to Sudan as from 18-28th , Feb 05.
SUDAN: A NATION TO REACH FOR CHRIST.
The last command of Jesus Christ to His disciples is “go ye
into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature……
“ MK. 16:15. This same command is equally expressed
in Matt. 28:19. From here we are compelled to
reach the lost with good news of Jesus.
We left Kitale on 18th ,Feb ’05 with a team of 10 pastors
and 2 evangelists from different ministries in Kitale area.
We had to stop at Kakuma refugee camp which is the largest
in East Africa represented by 12 nations that are affected
by wars in Africa. We had six hours meeting and witnessing
to refugees and also prayed with them for the deliverance
from various
bondages.
After this we moved to Lokichogio which is the last town in
the northern Kenya that borders Sudan. The chartered flight
came on time and all of us boarded. There was a lot of
tension and great fear among us because of many dangerous
areas that we were flying over in Sudan. The flight
took two and a half hours to get to PokTap. We landed
safely to the anxious
awaiting of many people in this village of 30,000 people.
The sun was so hot and the heat was intense and we started
feeling as if we were being roasted.
Our first hand show of Sudan and its people moved nearly
all of us in tears. We saw a lot of sufferings and hopelessness
among the people. There is a free flow of dangerous
weapons like guns and landmines: lack of water and food, clothings,
just to mention a few. It was a life changing experience
on seeing the children who are naked and exposed to terrific
health
conditions. The people are barely surviving under hard
life. They have no quality of life as we know it and
no hope for the future.
Our trip to Sudan was one of the specific ministry focuses
for this year. The Lord has been speaking to us as a
ministry so strongly about reaching out to this nation devastated
by wars for over two decades.
CLEARANCES BY THE ADMINISTRATION LEADERS.
In the evening, our team had a candid talk with the administration leaders
who are in charge of that PokTap area, Duk county which
is administered through chief commandants and the security
of the SPLA (Sudan People Liberation Army) in the South.
The two leaders we met welcomed us and told us a brief history
about their country and also told us about the great needs
and challenges that they are facing there as they strive to
live in peace.
EVANGELISM IN VILLAGES.
We started the day by going through various villages at PokTap:
We visited nine villages in three days. Also we visited the
villages of Jalong where we met children begging for water
and food. The average family spends more than 25% of
their day carrying water. Women with 20 litre containers
on their heads and a bucket in each hand, it is smelly,
dirty and
contaminated: Disease spreading water not fit for human consumption.
The situation will break your heart as it pulled us closer
to missions which is the heart beat of God.
We did evangelism hut to hut and about 250 families and people
gave their lives to Jesus for the first time. We left
this place with a great burden and prayers for God to raise
labourers into this ready field. We did a lot of evangelism
in other areas like Athep, Pawai, Loorbar and Wennyoor.
We witnessed the grace of Jesus, we prayed for the sickly
children, administered deliverance and held counselling with
SPLA soldiers as we brought hope and joy to them.
CHILDREN SCHOOL.
Part of this mission we visited the school that has been started
by our team last year and went into the classroom which
is a small hut thatched with grass. Here there so many
children who are malnourished with various health problems.
Some are naked without clothing; most of them are orphans
because their fathers died in war or are at the frontline
fighting
for the war. We distributed to them some books
and Christian supplies.
MEDICAL CAMP.
We also had a medical clinic for a day and one of the
team members. Pastor George was a nurse so he helped in treating
and supplying medicine. Many cases were noticed including
the broken limbs as a result of war and landmines, many were
also suffering from various kinds of diseases like diarrhoea,
typhoid, malaria, etc.
PASTORS AND CHRISTIAN LEADERS.
Pastor Elijah held a two day seminar with some of the
Anglican church pastors in the area. This is the only
church organisation, affiliated to Episcopal Church.
There are no spiritual and Pentecostal churches there. Many
people are only known by their Christian names but do not
have personal relationship with Jesus nor do they understand
the spiritual gifts.
Pastor Elijah and the team discipled them, instructed and
encouraged them in their calling. He prayed together
with them and encouraged them to study God’s word always.
We surveyed the immediate villages that are in need of church
planting , schools and boreholes. Also there is a great
need of bibles especially in Dinga language.
OUR VISION FOR SUDAN.
1. To encourage and bring many of the unreached people in
Sudan to Christ, this leading to the spiritual, emotional
and physical transformation. Imparting biblical values
into society leading to peace and resulting in church
sending missionaries throughout Sudan.
2. Raising up holistic approach to various hindrances towards
the gospel and establishing of schools, medical clinics,
provisions of food and wells as a gateway to bring the love
of God to various communities and tribes in the Sudan.
Also to construct houses for the poor people.
3. We need to give material support to children and pastors
by providing, bicycles, motorbikes, etc.
4. Raise up a prayers network from all churches and ministries
for breakthrough in Sudan.
YOUR PART AND CHALLENGES.
We are still in need of your prayers and involvement: the
vision is great, people are precious and the fields are white
unto harvest. Good well waters to be drilled in
Sudan, churches to be planted and constructed, training
of Pastors and missionaries and support for them. Children
to be supported and cared for and food and clothing for the
families: Schools to be started.
Your prayers, support and going will hasten the fulfilment
of the great commission.
PRAYER POINTS
1. Islam wars and poverty is the biggest hindrance to the
spread of the Gospel in Sudan. Pray that God would raise
up labourers who can face the challenges of Sudan: Islam,
diseases, famine, wars and Aids.
2. Pray for the end of religious/ethnic civil war in Sudan
which has displaced millions in Southern Sudan and resulted
in deaths through genocide and famine. Pray for a stop of
the southward spread of Islam in East Africa and frustrate
the effort of Sudanese Government to champion Islam in area.
3. Vision Builders Ministries has a strategic plan of raising
up local missionaries from Kenya and send them to Sudan to
plant churches and help them in discipleship. Ask the
lord to release those who have a heart for this. Also
pray for provision of $500 every month towards Sudan
outreach in our ministry.
4. Pray for God to raise-up partners and supporters for ever
increasing work of the ministry here in Moisbridge and the
neighbouring nations. We need financial support for the
expansions of our building; 5 bundles of roofing sheets, a
generator and support for children; this will be about $1500.
5. Intercede for vision of supporting either a pastor/evangelist
or a child in Sudan. Our ministry will be Planting house
churches in Sudan and building a church facility among
them. It costs about $2000 to have a small mud building
grass thatched. Thank you for standing in the gap for
VBM Ministry. This is the time to ask the Lord for the
nations to possess them
for the Lord through our intercessions and missionary thrust
to those in the unreached places and people, Psalms 2:8–12
you are led to pray, support and going. We will be glad
to hear from you. Keep us in your prayers.
God’s blessings to you

Revival
Ministries Australia has ministered overseas since its inception in
January '98. Many teams have gone to Myanmar, Mauritius and East Africa,
India and the Philippines. Revival Ministries to the Nations is acknowledging
our involvement in ongoing mission in various nations. Wonderful doors
have opened in Myanmar, India, Mauritius and East Africa. We have
not been to the Philippines for some time and do not have lively relationships
with local ministers. However newsletters and other resource materials
are sent to the Philippines as well as to all the other nations mentioned.
Our destination in East Africa has mainly been Kenya but with some
ministry into Uganda, Tanzania and now through one of our brothers,
George Muteti, into Rwanda. The nature of ministry to the nations
is changing and in this year, 2003, significant apostolic relationships
have developed with pastors and leaders in a number of nations. Our
approach to ministry has changed from having an official representative
[which we previously had in East Africa] to relating to spiritual
sons who regard apostle Paul Galligan as their father in Christ. These
brethren now arrange ministry for us. Our main burden in going to
the nations is to proclaim the apostolic revelation, training and
equipping pastors and leaders and committed disciples to go out into
the harvest, planting and establishing the church in apostolic order,
under apostolic oversight and bearing fruit comparable to the New
Testament testimony.
