Recent Newsletters
May 2005 Newsletter Dear Brethren, We have had a wonderful weekend at SHILOH. On Friday we hosted 25 pastors and ministers to a morning of worship and sharing followed by a fellowship lunch. Brethren came from towns and cities round about. On Saturday we hosted over 50 leaders and saints to a training day at SHILOH. The release of the word and the testimonies of the grace of God flowing through the ministries represented was awesome. We are rejoicing in our spirits and thanking God for the strength of the revival spirit He has released in us, and the grace of sonship that more and more are receiving. Grace and peace to you, apostle Paul Galligan and SHILOH apostolic company. “I will build My
church” Matthew 16:18 Biblical foundationsThe church is the household of God and it is
built on the foundations of apostles and prophets.
(Eph.2:20) There is no other foundation on which to build
the church other than the ministries of the apostle and prophet
that God has given through Christ to the church for the building
of the church. For 1800 years the church in general has not had
Biblical foundations. Soon after the close of the New Testament
writing time, the church began to replace the ministry of the apostle
with the man-made office of a bishop. The bishop was raised up to
rule over the church of a city in contradiction to the clear teaching
of Scripture, which says that the church of each city is pastored
[shepherded] and given oversight by elders. These elders were ordained
by the apostles. This is the Biblical pattern. (Acts
14:23, 20:28 & Titus 1:5) Restoring proper foundationsIn Scripture, elders and bishops refer to the
same office or ministry (Acts20:28; 1Tim.3:1-7; Tit.1:5-9).
There is no situation in the Scripture where a single elder was
given rulership over other elders or over the church of a city;
rather eldership was meant to be a plurality. Now at the end of
the age, God is restoring apostles and prophets so that the
last days church can be built upon proper foundations. Jesus is
coming back for His church, built His way, not for some conglomeration
that man has mixed up and is now trying to put together, without
due regard to the Scriptures and the pattern revealed therein. The cornerstoneThe Scripture says Jesus Christ is the Cornerstone.
(Eph.2:20) A cornerstone in a building is set in place after
the foundations have been laid. Once the cornerstone is in place,
then the walls of the building can be erected. In the Scripture
there is only one church and that church is built upon non-denominational
apostles and prophets who have been appointed in the church by God
Himself. (1 Cor.12:28) The church that has emerged historically
has not been built upon the foundations of apostles and prophets
and so we have numerous denominational divisions in the church as
people have followed the leadership and traditions of men. The
church of Jesus Christ is not the coming together of these various
divided denominations but rather a reformed church according
to the Scripture.
Once Biblical foundations are restored and
Jesus Christ is recognised and received again as the cornerstone,
“the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy
temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together for
a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.” (Eph. 2:21-22)
The ‘holy temple’ can be seen to be entire worldwide
church that God is raising. However in every place, a local church
is being raised, made up of many fellowships. It is in the local
fellowship that the individual saints find their spiritual home,
and are ‘perfected’, that is, adjusted or fully equipped,
set in place to fully function and thus to experience God in the
midst. The
revelation of the mystery
All
things gathered together in Christ
God
will grant us “wisdom and revelation to know the mystery.”
(Eph.1:17) This mystery is outworked in the gathering
of all things in Christ, things in heaven and on earth. (Eph.1:10)
This refers to the coming of Christ in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18,
when God will bring with Jesus those who sleep, that is, the dead
in Christ. (v14) When the Lord descends from heaven “the
dead in Christ
will rise first.” (v16) “Then we who are alive and remain shall
be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in
the air.” (v17) This is the gathering together of
all things in Christ to usher in the new age of Christ ruling and
reigning with and through His saints. Revealed by the Spirit The revelation of the mystery is “revealed by the
Spirit to His holy apostles and prophets”
(Eph.3:5), so that now “the unsearchable riches of
Christ” can be preached (Eph.3:8), leading to “the
revelation of the manifold wisdom of God to principalities and powers
in the heavenly realm through the church.” (Eph.3:10)
God’s goal is to fully displace the principalities and powers in
the heavenly realm and replace them with His church. This church
understands the mystery because the unsearchable riches of
Christ are being preached by apostles and prophets whom God appoints,
enabling the saints to understand and walk in the knowledge of the
mystery. The revelation of the true churchIt
is as the church comes into the revelation knowledge of the mystery
of God’s will being outworked through the church in the earth that
the glory of God will be revealed.
This revelation is the revelation of the true church as revealed
by the Holy Spirit. The Spirit gives the revelation firstly
to apostles and prophets who then through “the dispensation
of the grace of God which was given” (Eph.3:2),
preach the unsearchable riches of Christ, enabling all the saints
to “see what is the fellowship of the mystery.” (v
9) There is much more for the saints to enter into; God wants
to make known “the riches of the glory of His inheritance
in the saints.” (Eph.1:18) Until now most saints
have never heard the preaching of Christ in such a way as to reveal
the mystery. The knowledge of the mystery was hidden This mystery “has been hidden in God from the beginning
of the ages.” (Eph.3:9) When God created all things
through Jesus Christ, this mystery, called “the hidden wisdom”
(1 Cor.2:7), was present in creation but not known or
understood. Paul says in 1 Corinthians 2:6 that this wisdom
is not understood by the demonic rulers of this present age but
is to be understood by the saints who have come to a place of maturity
in their Christian understanding, knowing the mind of Christ. (1
Cor.2:16) Throughout history, men in their civilizations and
tribal communities, have searched for this wisdom outside of Christ.
This deeper wisdom can only be known through the gospel, revealed
by the Holy Spirit. Displacing of demonic powers As the church comes into the revelation knowledge of ‘who
Christ is’, and that the church is “the body of Him who fills
the all in all”, then this revelation will be made known
to the demonic rulers through the church. (Eph.3:10) A great
change has taken place because Jesus died on the cross. The fruit
of His death and resurrection is the formation of His body, the
church. As His church is truly joined to Christ the Head, then the
manifold wisdom of God, understood by the church through the prophetic
preaching of the word, fills the heavenly realm, displacing the
rule and reign of demonic powers. These powers currently rule through
deception and false religion. When the church comes to know the
revelation of the mystery, the demonic kingdoms become fully subject
to the kingdom of Christ. The revelation of the mystery releases
glory This wisdom is not for babes - babes need the ‘milk
of the word’; this wisdom is not for children - children
need the ‘meat of the word’; this wisdom is
‘the hidden manna’, for those growing into maturity.
Paul says “God ordained this wisdom before the ages for our
glory”, and now the Spirit is revealing this wisdom to us.
(1 Cor.2:10) This wisdom is never understood by man’s intellect;
it is by revelation to the spirit of man. To ensure that His saints
understand the revelation of His will, God has actually given to
us “the mind of Christ.” (1 Cor.2:16) This
means that the saints who have grown up into maturity, and even
young ones in Christ, can comprehend the word of God; can actually
think the thoughts of God. God is always working to fulfil His “eternal
purpose”; He has already accomplished His eternal
purpose “in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Eph.3:11),
and now it is through the church that the outworking of God’s eternal
purpose will be seen. It
is time to understand the mystery Amazingly,
God has now entrusted the revelation of this mystery of His eternal
purpose to the foolishness of preaching.
In these last days
God is again dispensing His grace to apostles and prophets to make
known the revelation of His mystery.
It was to Paul the apostle that Jesus chose to reveal much more,
and deeper truth of the mystery of His church. Even today, well-meaning,
gifted ministers are opposing what God is doing. Many are consciously
refusing to receive the apostles Jesus is raising in these days.
Many are defending institutional Christianity unnecessarily, against
the clear dictates and teaching of Scripture. In his day Paul called
such preachers Judaizers. They were attempting to bind the new Christian
church into the institutions and practices of Judaism. Religious
teachers of any age and those who hear them, miss out on the revelation
of the mystery, which is essential for the glorification of the
church. Such ones have no vision for the church other than what
they already know. The
above teaching is an extract [page 53-57] from the book “Walking
in our inheritance” by Paul Galligan. This book is available on
request. If you are able to send a donation please do, as this book
is being sown freely to the body of Christ in many nations ********************************************************* OUT OF AFRICA & MAURITIUS APRIL 2006We came home rejoicing in the great things God had done.
He sent us to Kenya from our two-day apostolic conference at SHILOH
at Easter time with the greatest release of His anointing we had
ever experienced. We knew the key message to share was the word
concerning ‘sonship’. So everywhere we spoke it was imperative
to teach the word, opening up the revelation of: growing up
into maturity, receiving the grace of sonship to inherit all that
God has reserved for us (1Pet.1:4-5). We noted some key aspects of the apostolic reformation
that is taking place in the church today. The
need for fathers: this
is the most poignant aspect of restoration in the apostolic reformation.
Everywhere men and women of God are giving voice to their need of
a father. A number of senior men of God are saying things like,
‘I have had many sons but I couldn’t bring them up properly because
I never had a father’. These very same men discovered the grace
of sonship, coming to sit at the apostle’s feet to receive revelation
from the word of God and an impartation of grace by the Holy Spirit.
One brother who had been the bishop of over 300 churches declared
that he now had to go and bring home all his prodigal sons. The
shift from denominational practice to the apostolic ‘way’: the clear teaching of the word of God revealed to many
that much of what they believed and practised in church life and
ministry was not according to the word of God and strong repentance
[change] was embraced. In an email from a brother who had been the
bishop of the 300+ churches, he writes, “I loved being called
‘Bishop’ and used a lot of authority over pastors. I have already
now made things clear: for better or for worse I am no longer bishop,
because I have found the truth. Pastors have found a changed man
in me and everyday I talk with them about becoming a son and having
someone that has stepped into my life as an apostolic father. I
am teaching the pastors to stop being institutional, legalistic
and to come to the apostolic calling.” Building
relationships within the body and linking leaders across nations: We have the privilege of being the apostolic father
to many sons and as we visit them we are able to build them together
in the body so that they become part of the ‘ONE’ body, the church,
and come into one accord in the building of the body of Christ.
Sons find each other as they relate to the same apostolic father.
Most of our sons are specifically called to be apostles and so they
are prominent leaders in the church in Kenya and the other nations.
An apostle from Nigeria had flown to Kenya purposefully
to meet Paul as he had read Paul’s book and realised there was more
for him. He discovered the joy of sonship and having a father. He
has now returned to Nigeria and is avidly spreading the apostolic
message more fully than before and already other leaders in Nigeria
have been in contact with Paul. As well Emmanuel is confident that
God will use him to play a part in reaching the seventeen West African
nations. He already was linked with leaders in Kenya and those leaders
are now also sons. There was a brother from Israel on team with us
– he had visited SHILOH for one week early last year and had been
deeply impacted by the grace of God working among us. Brother Bill
now links us, and our brethren in the nations, to Jerusalem. He
is an intercessor involved in a 24hour prayer and worship centre
in Jerusalem. A son who is an apostle travelled from Democratic Republic
of Congo to be on team. He had already met some of the leaders
in Kenya but is now more fully related to apostles in Kenya, Uganda
and Rwanda. Pastors and an apostle came to conferences in
West Kenya from Uganda and then followed us to the seminar
in Kampala. Again strong links are being made. Brother George Muteti was our co-ordinating apostle into
Uganda and Rwanda. He especially has formed strong links with church
leaders in Rwanda. Our brothers in Mauritius are also being linked to brethren
in Africa and the Mauritian brothers have begun the translation
of Paul’s book into French, which is the language of Central and
some West African nations. [STOP PRESS:
a brother who found us on the website and began to communicate from
Pakistan has now printed 2740 copies of “Walking in our Inheritance”
in their language and is distributing them free of charge to pastors
and leaders] Modelling
of apostolic company: showing
by example through the extended team that ministered together [sometimes
5 Musungus (whites) and 5 Africans on team] and sharing the testimony
of how SHILOH Apostolic company functions in Australia. Our apostolic
company supports and helps other ministries and fellowships that
come into relationship with us. There is a tremendous sense of belonging
to a larger apostolic family. We are committed to training and equipping
every saint for the work of the ministry God has called each one
to. There is a powerful expression of love and courage that God
has given us and people who come to SHILOH are able to experience
this love and receive an impartation of courage. Apostolic
training centre: integral
to our vision since the Lord first called us into apostolic ministry
in late 1997 was to have an apostolic training centre based upon
the example of the apostle Paul in Acts 19:9-10. Paul established
a training centre in Ephesus for two years and as a result “all
who dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus both Jews and
Greeks”. In 2 Tim.2:2 Paul expects Timothy to continue
such apostolic training “entrusting to faithful men what Timothy
had received from Paul so that they could teach others”.
In Nairobi, with RMA’s help from Australia, apostle Meshack Mbugwa
has rented a very suitable house, which is beginning to function
as an apostolic training centre in Africa. The team took our evening
meals there while in Nairobi with many brethren joining us for fellowship.
On the Saturday the team spent the day in the house receiving senior
ministers and pastors coming to see the apostle, talking, sharing,
testifying, asking questions and receiving prayer. International
apostles have already stayed in the house and Meshack has established
regular training sessions throughout the week. Ministry
in the house: even as the
apostolic training centre in Nairobi functions in a house very effectively,
so we continued to find the house based fellowship that automatically
happened wherever we were lodged and some specific house meetings
that were called were powerful examples of the Scriptural pattern
of the church meeting from house to house. A minister of the Government
of Rwanda was in a house meeting with us in Kigali. RMA
resources: we continue
to be amazed by the reception of our manuals, newsletter, Paul’s
book and teaching CD’s. In Myanmar we met a brother who translates
the monthly newsletter from English to the Chin language and distributes
it to 100 other leaders. We often find that pastors are preaching
from the newsletter and many report the encouragement they receive
from the newsletter. Regularly ministers and saints contact us through
our website. The doors are wide open into many nations. Sister Jean
and Bruce are reporting on their recent trip also into Thailand,
Myanmar and India. Paul and a team are going to India and Pakistan
in September. It is on our hearts to go to Israel, England and Nigeria.
We are praying much about this trip now as the doors have opened
widely. The work is great, but the work is now multiplying through
many sons becoming fruitful. The apostolic ministry has gained credibility
in some cities because of the testimony of changed lives in those
who have begun to walk in the revelation of sonship.
TRIIP
REPORT: THAILAND, MYANMAR, INDIA “Moreover the word of the Lord came to me, saying, ‘Jeremiah, what do you see?’ And I said, ‘I see a branch of an almond tree.’ “Then the Lord said to me, ‘You have seen well, for I am ready to perform My word.’” Jeremiah 1:11-12 Throughout
this recent visit to Myanmar, Thailand and South India, we saw the
fulfilment of this promise as the Lord brought revelation
upon His word and new life with understanding to His people.
The ministry in Myanmar and Thailand was in the Golden Triangle of Asia on both sides of the Thai-Burmese border. In both places we saw God empowering His people to be His witnesses. Doira
and her husband, Pastor Aike Lian, hosted a 3 day seminar at Mong Phyat in
the Eastern Shan State of Myanmar at the orphanage they oversee. Worship was amazing and again we saw the
children of Myanmar freed from all constraints as they met with
God in this way. Folk
from Kyiang Taung travelled to be with us and were equipped to take
the message of the gospel of the kingdom home with them.
Six students from Chaing Mai travelled with us to be home
with their families in Mong Phyat and witnessed the miraculous
power of God. Over
the three days God brought healings, deliverance, revelation upon
the word, and a response of nine baptisms in the local river.
But most amazing of all was the mighty outpouring of the
Lord’s Spirit upon the people at the end of each session.
On the last day there was such an outpouring where
people spoke in tongues and glorified God. It was like the
day of Pentecost. With such an empowering of His people
we wonder what the Lord has in store for these folk. Our
interpreter, Saw Edison, had traveled from Monglar on the Chinese
border. He ministers
in a difficult area where gambling is the main industry and there
is much compromise within the established church.
He had been disillusioned by the lack of sincerity he was
seeing. “I felt so lonely. By the grace of God, I met both of you
and acting in the manner of true son of God, I was inspired by what
God was doing in Mong Phyat. Now I’m serving as a spirit filled
son of God. I
always declare that, “He is my Lord”. Jesus said: “You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.” John 15:3 We were back in northern Thailand ministering in a refugee village for the hill tribe people of the Kachin State, Myanmar for the next three days. Again God was bringing revelation upon the word and freeing the people as they listened. Some testified to healings they had received on the second day. However, tribal feeling is deeply ingrained in these people and a major breakthrough came as we led them to forgive the other tribes who had harmed them. Forgiveness brought such a freedom for them to receive greater blessings. “In this manner, therefore,
pray:” Matthew 6:9
We
went to Chennai, South India, to friends at India Campus Crusade
for Christ. Here the
team had arranged for us to teach in nine different areas to varying
groups of people. Some
were new believers, some pastors and leaders, and some were church
planters. In each case we were asked to teach about
prayer and the message was the same – pray according to God’s
word to see His Kingdom come and His will done on earth as it is
in heaven. The
thrust was twofold: to re-focus people in prayer to come to the
throne of grace and mercy
(Hebrews 4:16) and to recognize the authority of Jesus in
prayer (Matthew 28:18). Praying
Scripture and praying in agreement with others was a new concept
for many. Recognising
that God’s word contains a promise to satisfy our every need and
learning how to appropriate those promises brings a reality
to living in the Kingdom of God.
Praying God’s word into place also brought an empowering
to God’s people which is so vital for these workers who suffer persecution
and abuse in their daily walk with the Lord. Bruce
and I were again blessed and humbled by all that God allows us to
be a part of. We pray
for our brothers and sisters in these parts of the body of Christ. May they fulfil the ministries they have
received in the Lord, and may Christ be formed in them to enable
them to truly represent Him to the world. Jean
