And the apostles gathered themselves together unto Jesus, and told him all things, both what they had done, and what they had taught. - Mark 6:30
Jesus ministered in houses (Mk2:1). Jesus sent out His apostles and disciples to find a house of peace and to preach the Kingdom of God and heal the sick from there (Matt 10:11-13, Lk 10:5-9). The Early Church met daily, breaking bread from house to house (Acts 2:46-47). The Church was planted and functioned in houses (Acts 16:14-15, Rom 16:3-5).
As a ministry, we plant and meet as the church in the house. There are various house churches relating to us as an apostolic ministry in Australia. The benefit of meeting as the church in the house, is that it provides opportunity for every member of the Body to function, contribute and grow as disciples, from the youngest to the oldest. "How is it then brethren, whenever you come together, each one of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification." 1 Corinthians 14:26
There are five house churches in the Toowoomba area, as well as others in other regions. There are some meetings that happen in public buildings, but function much more like a house church.
